SEIZE THE DAY!

With the sun casting its golden glow upon a vivid blue sky, I awake to the promises of a new day. The agenda is brimming with appointments, poolside relaxation, and an evening engagement – a day full of possibilities. It dawns on me that in my optimistic planning, I never consider the possibility that the day might not unfold as expected. August 26, 2023, a day of reflection, reminds me of the 13 service members who, two years ago, awoke with similar plans, only to face a destiny that cut their time short.

The transient nature of life, described as a fleeting mist in Biblical text, is a reality for us all. This truth becomes particularly profound for those in military service, especially those stationed in hostile territories. As I remember those 13 courageous souls and their families, I offer a silent prayer for their comfort and strength. Their sacrifices echo the fragility of life, urging us to embrace each moment with purpose. Today, we remember their legacy as we honor those who continue to serve amidst uncertainty.
